Swatch turned Cozy

Swatching for the Calligraphy Cardigan has occurred (finally). I have been meaning to get going on this but I wanted to finish up a few other tasks (like my lemongrass sweater) before I got distracted with the shiny of new yarn and  new project. Of course, being a crafty girl I decided to not let the swatch go to waste and made a coffee cozy instead. Every coffee needs a cozy right?

Pattern: Swatch C O Z Y
Yarn: Tosh DK
Color: Cherry
Needles: US #6

Cast on 22 stitches
knit in stockinette stitch for 7 Inches
next row knit 7, k2tog, yo, knit 5, yo, k2tog, knit to end
knit in stockinette 2 more rows
next two rows: work in seed stitch
next row knit two together as a bind off method till one stitch remains.
Pick up 3 of every 4 stitches along one side, knit in seed stitch for three rows, bind off as above for next row. One stitch remains, turn work, pick up stitches and knit 2 rows in seed stitch again. Third row bind off. Do the same with the final row.
Weave in ends and sew on buttons.
